Yoshie Fruchter / PITOM
NEW PITOM VIDEO - "KI ANU AMEKHA"
New single from PITOM with vocals by Yoshie Fruchter and the band. Text comes from high holiday liturgy and the arrangement is based on a hassidic version of the prayer.
The video intersperses live footage of the band with clips from early stop-motion animation genius Ladislaw Starewicz's films. The prayer "Ki Anu Amekha" deals with the human struggle with mortality and subservience to a greater power. Starewicz's creations, in parallel, seem to come alive with human emotion on film but cease to move without the magic of the camera.
Recorded and mixed by Jason LaFarge at Seizure's Palace
Check out PITOM's new full length instrumental album "Blasphemy and Other Serious Crimes" on John Zorn's Tzadik records for more music on the these themes.
